BiographyAuthor and attorney Julie L. Moran’s articles have appeared in a wide variety of consumer magazines and cover a broad range of topics, from legal and parenting issues to biographical features and travel columns for golf web sites. Her latest book is The Six-Spoke Approach to Golf, which she co-authored with Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher Tom Patri. Her first book, Golf Vacations Even Non-Golfers Will Enjoy: The Southeastern United States, was published in 1996 by John F. Blair, Publisher. She is a member of the Authors Guild and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. She edited the Fordham Law Review and the Fordham Environmental Law Reporter while attending that University’s School of Law. She earned her J.D. degree in 1988 and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Moran lives in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and their two children. She is currently working toward her Master’s degree in professional writing at the University of Southern California and on her third book. Co-author Tom Patri has been listed among Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America since 2000, and in 2003, he was named Southwest Florida PGA’s Teacher of the Year. He is currently the Director of Instruction at the Naples Grande Golf Club in Naples, Florida. In 1999, Tom was named one of the Top 25 Instructors in New York State by Golf Digest, and in 1998, his peers named him Metropolitan PGA Teacher of the Year. From 1990 until 2001, he served as the Director of Golf Instruction at the prestigious Westchester Country Club (home of the Buick Classic) in Rye, New York. Over the course of more than twenty years of teaching, Tom has coached more than 100 PGA Tour, LPGA and PGA Club Professionals. He has been featured four times on the Golf Channel’s Academy live, and his articles have appeared in numerous golf publications, including Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Executive Golfer, Golf for Women, Golf Illustrated, Senior Golfer, and Petersen’s Golfing. He currently lives in Naples with his son. |
